Incomplete Ossification of the Humeral Condyle (IOHC) - CT Scan Case Study

This 3yr old Spaniel presented with a chronic moderate right forelimb lameness. There was mild pain on palpation of the elbow, but minimal effusion, but there was considerable muscle wastage over the entire right forelimb.

While X-rays could may have been diagnostic, given the patients age and breed we opted to go straight to CT.

This confirmed right IOHC which will be surgically managed. The left elbow was unaffected.
CT is a great tool for this diagnosis, as well as other commonly encountered scenarios in practice.
